Do You Want To Become A More EFFECTIVE Leader?

If you hope to become the best leader, you might possibly be, it is never enough, to merely wish for it, or expect, hoping, will get what's necessary, done and achieved! With many people serving in positions of leadership, why do so few, ever become true, effective, relevant leaders? With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly identify, review and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, some of the necessities of becoming a real, meaningful, EFFECTIVE leader.
1. Efforts: One never becomes effective, until/ unless, he consistently, continuously commits to proceeding with his finest efforts, focused on what the organization, an stakeholders, need, deserve, are concerned with, and consider a priority! How will you make sure, your level of effort, will be sufficient and meaningful, focusing on the common good, and needs, rather than your self - interest, and/ or personal agenda?
2. Face facts: One will never be an effective, meaningful leader, if he buries his head in the sand, denying reality, and wearing rose - colored glasses! It is imperative for a true leader, to begin, by facing facts, and determining needs, concerns, priorities, relevance, and sustainability.
3. Faithful; frank: Are you willing to honestly, frankly, consider and address, the most relevant issues and concerns? A meaningful leader must, consistently, prioritize being faithful, to those he serves, and represents, placing their interests, ahead of his personal agenda and/ or self - interest!
4. Empathy: How can you be an effective leader, unless, you proceed, with your eyes - wide - open, an open - mind, and a willingness, to listen effectively, in order to determine and understand the needs, concerns, priorities, and perceptions, of constituents? When one begins with this consistent commitment, he becomes capable of maintaining the highest level of genuine, relevant, empathy!
5. Character; clarity; cooperative: Few maintain the quality of character, required of a true leader! How will you maintain, and be certain, you possess the foresight and clarity, needed and necessary? Rather than being polarizing and/ or adversarial, real leaders proceed forward, in a cooperative, unifying manner!
6. Timely; trends: One must position himself, to evaluate, understand, and use the best trends, to make you a better leader! In addition, you must be ready, willing and able, to consistently proceed, in a well - considered, timely manner.
7. Integrity; investigate; implement: A real leader never accepts anything less than his utmost, personal, absolute integrity! When one is certain of his quality of motivations, and commitment, he becomes far more capable of objectively investigate alternatives and options, and determine the best path to follow. Once this is done, it is essential to implement the strategic and action plans, which will make a difference, for the better!
8. Vital, vibrant vision: Effective leadership begins with someone's vital, vibrant vision, and being driven, to positively impact the group and constituents!
9. Excellence: If you hope to lead effectively, you must never accept, good - enough, and/ or mediocre, but strive for personal excellence!
